Simraceway - New Car–McLaren MP4-29

McLaren unveiled its 2014 Formula One World Championship challenger, the MP4-29, at its Woking headquarters as a wind of change swept through the sport. And with 2013 Formula Renault 3.5 Series champion Kevin Magnussen replacing Sergio Perez as Jenson Button’s teammate, there was more than just a new car for the British team to get used to.

Read on to find out more or discover it for yourself by purchasing it or taking it for a free, weekend-long test drive in-game.

The biggest change in Formula One for decades, the replacement of normally-aspirated engines—a staple in the series for a quarter of a century—with 1.6-liter V6 turbocharged units, meant the MP4-29 would be McLaren’s first turbo-powered F1 car since the peerless MP4/4 in 1988. The team’s new Mercedes PU106A Hybrid engine would have a lot to live up to.

Having parted company with its long-time main sponsor, McLaren sent their new car into action bedecked in a new, predominantly silver, livery—and it began the season promisingly. Also distinguishable from its predecessors thanks to its stooping nose—one of a number of design alterations required by the summer’s far-reaching rule revisions—it notched impressive second and third places at the Australian Grand Prix.

To take McLaren’s all-new Formula One racer onto the track, download the MP4-29 right now onSimraceway.

Note: Due to a last-minute hitch, the MP4-29 will initially ship with seven gears. Rest assured, we are working on this issue and will provide a free-to-download car update in due course.

Sadly Simraceway is DX9 technology and that does limit the quality of the game play. I have been with them for over 2 1/2 years, but I have seen a real drop off in the on hand techs. There used to be srwTechs on hand 24/7, but that is no longer true. I hope they can get better as time goes because they are being left behind by some of the other and newer games.

Sean,
I am all signed up and ready to race in the Carrera Cup, except for one thing.  How do I obtain Road America?  I do not have it in AC as one of my tracks.  Where is it?

Great review, you've convinced me to buy one of these for my rigsmile

One question, do you think the mounting brackets could be inverted (and swapped left to right) to mount it from the top?

Hey man. Love your style and input on all your reviews. I have a question: my rig is fo the ps4, it has the thrustmaster t300 Alcántara edition, the fanatec clubsport v3 pedals, the cpx adapter from Basherboards, and I am looking forward to get this fanate shifter. You said that I could connect this shifter directly to the pedals via a USB cable. My question is: is that setup only for pc or will it work with the setup I provided above?

Thanks very much for your answer. I wouldn't wanna have to conform with the th8 because a misunderstanding of compatibility, and missing out on the fanatec Choice.

Thanks a bunch!

Okay 20 minutes is too short. Make the races an hour. Can you make it w/o pitting? I don't know, but with or w/o pitting it would be fun.
