VIDEO BLOG: DIY Dual Shock Controller Button Box

In the racing off season we are always looking to work on, and to make improvements to our racing rigs for the upcoming season.  Adding a button box is a good way to increase realism and add more function to your rig.  But button boxes can be expensive or budget prohibitive so that leaves some looking for other options.

A fan of the show sent in an email that featured 3 of his own videos that show how to build a button box out of an old Logitech Dual Shock Controller.  By tearing the unit down and wiring in your own buttons anyone could have a ready to go button box for about $20.

The viewers name is Ryan Jones, and he has his own You Tube channel called Jonseyboy's Elektreak and he has many other videos to see.  However it was the series of video on how to build this controller that we are featuring in this blog.

To see Ryan's video in full here are the links:

Part 1 - Break Down and Basic Wiring

Part 2 - Additional Buttons

Part 3 - Testing in Game

I would like to thank Ryan for sending in these videos and we really hope you enjoy them.

Hey Shaun:

I was hoping to participate in the next race and on Simracing System it says it's at Fuji. Which version of Fuji should I download.

Thanks!

Sean,
I am all signed up and ready to race in the Carrera Cup, except for one thing.  How do I obtain Road America?  I do not have it in AC as one of my tracks.  Where is it?

Great review, you've convinced me to buy one of these for my rigsmile

One question, do you think the mounting brackets could be inverted (and swapped left to right) to mount it from the top?
