Many sim racers started off on the PlayStation or  Xbox and found their way into sim racing.  But switching to the PC side of sim racing can be a challenge and it starts off with the right hardware.

We get many email from console gamers looking for recommendations on computer to buy to get into the PC side of sim racing.  Due to this question we went on the hunt for a good starter PC that wont break the bank.

We then found Viper Gaming Systems out of the Pacific Northwest.  A small computer company that build computers.  To be more accurate they are gamers, how build computers for other gamers.  We thought they would be a perfect company to work with and they offered up their Python Build for review.

This little computer that could is based on an  Intel i3 chipset with an GTX 1060 video card as its backbone.  Will it handle the rigors of sim racing?  Watch out review and see how it did in various sims in both single screen and triple screen applications.

My first real pc was a Viper. Good unit, but time passes and I had to upgrade and it was easier to buy a new pc...

Sean,
I am all signed up and ready to race in the Carrera Cup, except for one thing.  How do I obtain Road America?  I do not have it in AC as one of my tracks.  Where is it?

Great review, you've convinced me to buy one of these for my rigsmile

One question, do you think the mounting brackets could be inverted (and swapped left to right) to mount it from the top?

Hey man. Love your style and input on all your reviews. I have a question: my rig is fo the ps4, it has the thrustmaster t300 Alcántara edition, the fanatec clubsport v3 pedals, the cpx adapter from Basherboards, and I am looking forward to get this fanate shifter. You said that I could connect this shifter directly to the pedals via a USB cable. My question is: is that setup only for pc or will it work with the setup I provided above?

Thanks very much for your answer. I wouldn't wanna have to conform with the th8 because a misunderstanding of compatibility, and missing out on the fanatec Choice.

Thanks a bunch!

Okay 20 minutes is too short. Make the races an hour. Can you make it w/o pitting? I don't know, but with or w/o pitting it would be fun.
