iRacing Trucks - Week 5 Gateway - Racing Recap and Points Breakdown

This is the recap from week 5 in the iRacing NASCAR fixed truck Series.  This week the drivers are off the Gateway Motorsports park for 35 laps of driving on ice.  Earlier in the week I put out a video that showed you the proper driving line and how to make a qualifying run in preparation for this weeks races.

In this episode we wrap up the week with a play by play of the race or races from the week.  Immediately following the racing we will analyse the points from the races and see if we have made improvement or lost ground on our competition.

Hi Shaun,

I have to say I am really enjoying this new series. I'm from the UK and oval racing isn't particularly popular here but I really enjoy what you're doing and it makes great viewing. Whether it be oval or road, I really like this race-by-race progression you are doing in these shows. Keep it up!

Also, I really like the website.

Shane I am using a Canon Vixia RF50.  It is a failry inexpensive camera and does pretty well with any lighting situation.  It is a better indoor then outdoor camera, but suits my needs well.

Hi Shaun,

What camera are you using to film your races with? Or what would be the best camera to purchase for recording races even when it is darker in the room?

Thanks
Shane

Hello Andreas,

You are absolutley correct.  My SR was getting lower each week, since the begining of the season.  I was concerned about loosing SR at this track, mainly due to otehr in ability to drive it.  There were many wrecks and cautions.

I had 3 races to play with prior to them counting a second race.  So the only gamble was the safety rating.

Hi Shaun,

nice win! Congratulations!

There is one thing I didn't understand. As I understood the video, this was your first (and only) race of the week so your SR would have been in danger but not your championship points. You could have driven three more races and still only the best one would count.

Hey Shaun:

I was hoping to participate in the next race and on Simracing System it says it's at Fuji. Which version of Fuji should I download.

Thanks!

Sean,
I am all signed up and ready to race in the Carrera Cup, except for one thing.  How do I obtain Road America?  I do not have it in AC as one of my tracks.  Where is it?

Great review, you've convinced me to buy one of these for my rigsmile

One question, do you think the mounting brackets could be inverted (and swapped left to right) to mount it from the top?

Hey man. Love your style and input on all your reviews. I have a question: my rig is fo the ps4, it has the thrustmaster t300 Alcántara edition, the fanatec clubsport v3 pedals, the cpx adapter from Basherboards, and I am looking forward to get this fanate shifter. You said that I could connect this shifter directly to the pedals via a USB cable. My question is: is that setup only for pc or will it work with the setup I provided above?

Thanks very much for your answer. I wouldn't wanna have to conform with the th8 because a misunderstanding of compatibility, and missing out on the fanatec Choice.

Thanks a bunch!
